Jack-O-Lantern Contest and Scary Stories

Wednessday, October 29

7:00 - 8:30 pm

Enter the Library's 17th annual Jack-o-Lantern Contest!  Bring your carved pumpkin to enter the contest, or just come to vote for your favorites. The contest is open to everyone, including teens and adults, so show off those carving skills.   While the judges choose the winners, listen to some scary stories, very scary ones told in the dark for brave children (8 and up), and less scary ones for younger children.

Gardening in Times of Drought

New Library to Go users can try the new Overdrive ebook app for Android, iOS, Nooks, Kindles, and Windows 8.  This update features the long-awaited elimination of the Adobe Authorization step from the app installation process—one of your most frequently requested enhancements!

The news is full of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, and the two patients who have been transported to the United States for treatment. You may have questions. Library to Go Holds and Check Out Features

Library to Go has added new features to your holds.  When you place a hold you can now check mark a box to automatically check out your hold to you when it is ready.   No more worries about missing the notification that your hold is ready. 

Secondly, you can now suspend your holds, if you are not ready to receive it yet.  Log into Library to Go with your library card number and click on Account and then click on "Click Here to Review Your Holds."  Click the Options button on each hold and select the option you want.
