New Water Ordinance

Effective July 1 until October 15, outside watering schedule:

Customers with addresses ending in an ODD number can water on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Customers with addresses ending in an EVEN number can water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Watering only allowed between 7 pm and 8 am.

New Poet Laureate

Congratulations to Donald Peery who was affirmed as Benicia's fifth poet laureate with a resolution at the July 15th Benicia City Council meeting.

The appointment comes after the Board of Library Trustee's Poet Laureate Committee's recommendation to the Council. See newspaper annoucement.

1960s Outsiders Party

Whether a Greaser or a Soc, dress as your favorite character from the movie, The Outsiders. Listen to music, dance and compete in a 60s trivia game.

We'll be showing great classic movies from the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's this summer!  Come watch great films on the Library's big screen and enjoy snacks.

Food for Fines

May 19-25, 2014

Return your overdue items and pay your overdue and expired hold fines with cans of food. ($5.00 limit) Each can is worth $1.00 in fines. Donations will go to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano and the food you donate will stay in this county.

Casa Buena: a Multicultural Event for Teens

Take a tour of the taste buds as our TAB (Teen Advisory Board) and Teen Volunteers provide us with tasty treats from all over the world while our other senses feast on cultural entertainment like belly dancing and live music.   We are looking for people who would like to show off their mulitcultural talent. If you would like to do a 10 minute demo, please contact the Teen Librarian.
