MOONLIGHT FILM CONTEST for Youth

DEADLINE: August 31 at 6:00PM

Thank you for your interest in entering the Benicia Public Library’s Moonlight Film Contest for Youth. If you are between the ages of 12 and 22, you are eligible to compete in Moonlight Film Contest for Youth. Films will be shown at the 11th Annual Moonlight Film Festival on September 24th starting at 6:00PM. Awards will be presented at the close of the Festival Saturday evening. We try to show films in their entirety at the Festival but we do reserve the right to edit the films for length. Please note: once entered into the contest, the DVD of your film becomes the property of the Benicia Public Library.

HOW TO ENTER YOUR FILM:

Make sure your film meets these criteria:

• Content must be considered PG
• Key members of your crew must be between 12 and 22 years
  
• Films will be accepted in DVD format only (readable by a DVD player, not a laptop)
  
• Films may be no longer than 20 minutes

Each entry must include:

• Your film in DVD format
• A completed entry form (download form at bottom of page):
  • Fill out film and filmmaker information
  • Write a descriptive film summary
  • Give the names, ages and roles of your cast and crew. (If you do not, they will not be listed in the program or acknowledged in the Awards Ceremony.)
  • Attach your complete history of filmmaking: classes & workshops attended, number of films created (including titles), film festivals entered & awards received. (This will be used to determine your film classification.)

There are two ways to turn in your film:

• Bring your film & entry form to the Benicia Public Library's Customer Service Desk or
• Mail your film & entry form to the following address:

DEADLINE for Entry:

Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 6:00 PM

Judging will take place by a panel of 3 teens and 3 adults.
